Hot on the tails of his 2022 opus LP “Tutto Passa,” Gianni Brezzo, the studio project helmed by producer + multi-instr. Marvin Horsch, keeps the fire burning with EP “Amoria,” a visual and sonic progression to the thematic Italo-inspiration that drove “Tutto Passa.”

Complete with lush and nuanced woodwinds, strings, guitar, synths and brass, all arranged together within a groove-driven framework that showcases an uplifting, almost danceable quality that will keep heads bobbing.

Featuring appearances by saxophonist Simone Alessandrini and Italian multi-instrumental/bass session-man extraordinaire Emanuele Trigli, the tracks on “Amoria” – like “Centric” and “All the Past” – are those rare, effortless gems that, regardless of the time of day or locale, will fit that perfect, instrumental jazz / soul / ever-so-slightly-ambient mood.

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
